Alliance Civil is committed to delivering civil infrastructure responsibly — protecting the environment, supporting communities, and building a sustainable future across Victoria and Queensland.
Our Commitment
Eight core commitments that guide how Alliance Civil manages its environmental responsibilities on every project.
Alliance Civil is committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions across all operations by 2035. This target is embedded in our business strategy and drives investment decisions in plant, equipment, and operational practices.
Our Environmental Management System (EMS) is certified to ISO 14001:2015. This provides a structured framework for identifying, managing, and continually improving our environmental performance across every project we deliver.
We implement waste minimisation strategies on every project, including material reuse, recycling of excavated material, and responsible disposal of construction waste. We target zero landfill on all projects where feasible.
Alliance Civil implements best-practice stormwater and erosion management controls on all sites. We use water carts, silt fences, sediment basins, and bio-retention measures to protect waterways and comply with EPA requirements.
We actively manage fuel consumption across our plant fleet, including route optimisation, idle reduction, and investment in newer, more fuel-efficient machinery. We are evaluating hybrid and electric plant options as part of our decarbonisation roadmap.
Alliance Civil conducts pre-construction environmental assessments on all projects to identify and protect native vegetation, fauna habitat, and significant trees. We work closely with environmental consultants and councils to minimise ecological impact.
We manage dust and air quality on all construction sites through water suppression, speed restrictions, and use of dust suppressants. Our water carts are deployed proactively to protect surrounding communities and comply with EPA air quality standards.
We engage proactively with local communities, councils, and government agencies on environmental matters. Alliance Civil provides regular environmental reporting to clients and maintains open communication with stakeholders throughout project delivery.
How we manage environmental risk and deliver on our sustainability commitments across Victoria and Queensland.
Alliance Civil operates a certified Environmental Management System (EMS) aligned with ISO 14001:2015. Our EMS is integrated into all project planning and delivery processes, ensuring that environmental risks are identified, assessed, and controlled from pre-construction through to handover. Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) are prepared for every project and reviewed by our qualified environmental personnel.
We have established a clear pathway to net zero by 2035. Our carbon reduction strategy includes: transitioning our plant fleet to lower-emission alternatives, reducing unnecessary plant idling, optimising haulage routes to reduce fuel consumption, and investing in renewable energy for site offices and facilities. We measure and report our carbon footprint annually and set progressive reduction targets.
Alliance Civil gives preference to suppliers and subcontractors who share our commitment to environmental responsibility. We specify recycled and sustainably sourced materials where technically appropriate, and we require our supply chain to comply with relevant environmental legislation and our project-specific EMPs.
Protecting waterways and preventing soil erosion is a priority on every Alliance Civil project. We implement comprehensive erosion and sediment control plans in accordance with EPA guidelines and relevant state legislation. Controls include silt fences, sediment basins, rock check dams, and stabilised construction entrances — all inspected and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Our ISO 14001-certified EMS is built on the principle of continual improvement. We conduct regular internal audits, management reviews, and corrective action processes to identify opportunities to enhance our environmental performance. We track key environmental metrics across all projects and report progress against our sustainability targets annually.
Alliance Civil maintains full compliance with all applicable environmental legislation across Victoria and Queensland, including the Environment Protection Act 2017 (Vic), the Environmental Protection Act 1994 (Qld), and relevant EPA guidelines. We hold all required environmental permits and licences for our operations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes through our compliance management system.
Alliance Civil Pty Ltd acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work, and deliver civil infrastructure across Victoria and Queensland. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging, and recognise the continuing connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country, culture, and community.
